Rescue Dogs

Rescue dogs are just like other dogs… But they are dogs who have typically gone through a lot of upheaval and emotional turmoil before landing in their new homes.

These stressors often result in out-of-character behaviour during their first few weeks and months of settling in which can catch adopters off guard.

Depending on where your new rescue dog is from, and what their previous life has been like, you may also face other training and behaviour challenges while your dog settles into their new life.

Having worked with a foreign dog rescue organisation for several years, introduced a number of rescue dogs into my home, and supported countless adopters during their dogs’ first years at home, I am well-equipped to help you welcome your new rescue and ensure that their first few weeks or months go as smoothly as possible.

Wells Trained can offer one-to-one in-person coaching or video call sessions to help you support and settle your rescue dog in the best way possible.
